Production took place in locations chosen to amplify the scale and atmosphere of the story, including the cliffs and crescent-shaped bays surrounding Pylos in the Greek Peloponnese, the rugged islands of Favignana and Lipari off the Sicilian coast, Scotland’s dramatic Moray Coast and the cliff-top ruins of Findlater Castle, Iceland’s black sand plains and harbours, and the enchanting coastal city of Essaouira in Morocco.

New Airbnb search data shows that major film and streaming releases are increasingly reflected in travellers’ search behaviour, and the phenomenon of set-jetting is no longer a niche reserved for die-hard fans:

• Gloucestershire & Bath: The historic settings of Bridgerton drove a 60% increase in searches for Gloucestershire and a 26% increase for Bath, the quintessential Regency city, compared with the same period last year.(1)
• Culross (Scotland): Outlander continues to captivate travellers, with searches for the Scottish village rising by 25%.(2)
• Bucharest (Romania): Even the dark aesthetic of Wednesday hasn’t missed its mark; searches for this Romanian capital jumped by 18%.(3)
