As the British summer fades and autumn leaves appear, Airbnb today reveals the most affordable destinations for Brits to prolong their summer, indulge in some last-minute September sunshine, and make the most of fewer crowds.

As Brits look towards planning their next trip for autumn, Airbnb also unveils its top international and domestic travel trends for the season – from city escapes and festive preludes to destination dupes and peaceful countryside escapes¹.

With 84% of UK travellers citing price as an important factor when it comes to deciding between booking an Airbnb listing or other accommodations – and over half (55%) saving money by staying in an Airbnb over other accommodation – autumn serves as the ideal time to take advantage of crisp savings².

When comparing price-per-night on Airbnb over recent years, prices during the year tend to be the lowest in the September through November timeframe, making travelling with Airbnb this shoulder season a great opportunity to travel affordably, while enjoying unique, domestic stays³.

Once again, Japanese cities, Kyoto and Tokyo, lead as top trending international destinations for Brits this autumn, drawing people in with their unique blend of tradition and modernity.

Closer to home, UK travellers are seeking quintessentially autumnal escapes, drawn to destinations known for country walks, cosy pubs and historical charm. Additionally, the autumn weather isn’t stopping Brits from venturing to the great British seaside, with coastal villages like Robin Hood’s Bay gaining traction.
