Airbnb is pleased to share the latest recipients of Airbnb Community Fund grants, which include more than 160 organisations making a difference in 30+ countries across six continents.

Launched in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund is a $100 million initiative to directly support local communities and the people who live there. Each year, Airbnb donates to organizations that are supporting and strengthening communities around the world, including donations made in partnership with local hosts in many of these communities.

Each year, we’re proud to partner with hosts to identify important issues and many of the non-profit organisations to receive donations. Airbnb hosts are deeply connected to their communities and by involving them in this process, we aim for the Fund to have a meaningful impact where it’s needed most. As in previous years, hosts helped direct a majority of the donations.

Airbnb Community Fund Recipients

This year’s Community Fund grants were directed to organisations focused on three issue areas identified by the Airbnb Host Advisory Board as important to the global host community: economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, and ending abuse and exploitation.

UK organisations receiving donations include:

  • Women’s Aid to support its work to end domestic abuse against women and children in the UK. Our ongoing partnership with Women’s Aid builds on a pilot launched in 2024 for listings on Airbnb to be used to provide temporary accommodation to domestic abuse survivors free of charge, when specialist emergency accommodation (refuge) is not available.
  • Artists Project Earth to support their environmental and climate awareness projects around the world, bringing the power of music and the arts to 21st century challenges.
  • FareShare North East to support their mission to simultaneously address the growing issues of food poverty and waste through surplus food redistribution.

Many recipients of Community Fund grants shared how the donation will support their work.

Randip Thomson, Women’s Aid Director of Income Generation and Engagement said: “Women’s Aid are extremely grateful to have partnered with Airbnb during our 50th anniversary year and beyond. The successful launch of our pilot project, along with your generous donation, means Women’s Aid can continue to provide life-saving support and information to women and children as they navigate life after abuse.

“Collaborations like these, with companies who understand the importance of our work and who are committed to using their resources to tackle the urgent issues we face, are invaluable to our mission of protecting women and children from abuse.”

The Airbnb Community Fund in action

Members of local Host Clubs, which are led by volunteer hosts, nominated local, community-based non-profit organizations making a difference in their communities and then helped select the finalists. Members of 85 Host Clubs – nearly double from last year – representing more than 30 countries selected organizations to receive grants, including Save Jeju Sea in South Korea; Cooperativa Sociale Incontro Onlus in Italy; Yachana Foundation in Ecuador; and Paso del Norte Center of Hope in Texas.

To date, the Airbnb Community Fund has distributed more than $36 million to organisations in nearly 70 countries, with hosts providing input each year.

Claire Howard-Jones, a member of the Airbnb host club for Oxford, Bristol and Bath said: “We are delighted that Airbnb has accepted our recommendation to support Artists Project Earth. The charity does great work both globally and in the UK to help areas hit by natural disasters and to raise awareness of climate change and environmental issues. Over the years, they have supported many projects in the Oxford, Bristol and Bath area, from creating wildflower areas in Bristol to projects aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change and pollution across the Thames Valley. We look forward to working more closely with them at a local level.”

2023 grantee Farms for City Children said: “Thanks to the Airbnb Community Fund, Farms for City Children has enabled 156 children and young people from South Wales, Pembrokeshire, Greater London, Walsall, Manchester, Plymouth, Gosport, and Gloucester to experience our transformative 5-day farm residentials in the autumn and spring terms of 2023/24 academic year.

“Airbnb’s support has helped to reach children and young people in areas of significant economic hardship, where many are eligible for Free School Meals— underscoring the importance of accessible opportunities like these. Through this grant, we are helping to equip young people with essential life skills, confidence, and a connection to nature—helping them to see new possibilities for their future.”

This year’s Airbnb Community Fund grants were distributed from July 2024 through early 2025. Airbnb works with grantmaking partners to support due diligence and facilitate payment to many nonprofit grantees.
