Today, Airbnb revealed 226,000 guests will stay with hosts across the country this Spring Bank Holiday weekend.*
With temperatures peaking at a record breaking 28 degrees during the early May Bank Holiday, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Brits make up 62% of guests travelling with Airbnb in the UK instead of spending the long weekend abroad.
Hosts on Airbnb in the UK will also welcome guests from almost 150 other countries over the weekend. The top guest arrivals, ranked by nationality are:
- UK
- US
- Germany
- France
- Australia
There has also been a significant increase in family travellers using the platform in the UK, with Airbnb revealing a 55% rise compared to the same period last year.
With 48,000 guest arrivals, London hosts will be welcoming the highest number of guests this Spring Bank Holiday. The most popular destination in the capital over the weekend is the North West London borough of Brent with 900 guest arrivals to the borough’s 2,200 active listings on Airbnb. In London, Brent was followed by the neighbourhoods of Bayswater and Hammersmith in terms of highest number of guest arrivals to the capital.
