Buy Black Marketplace: Celebrating Black-Owned Businesses in our Community

Airbnb’s Black employee resource group, known as Black@, launched the Buy Black Marketplace in London and Dublin for the first time ever to celebrate UK & Ireland Black History Month. The Marketplace is an internal resource to showcase and support over 100 of the most celebrated local Black-owned, operated, and managed businesses recommended by our Airbnb host community and members of Black@.

While the marketplace events have traditionally been held in real life in our state-side offices – San Francisco, New York and Seattle – for the London and Dublin launches, the marketplace has gone virtual.

While the marketplace may only be accessible to Airbnb employees, some vendors can be explored by anyone in the recently launched Black Weekender Guides, curated by Black@ for London, Amsterdam and Dublin. These guides provide just a snapshot of some of the businesses to discover and highlight the inspiring and broad spectrum of Black-owned businesses across the three cities.

By curating these marketplace events and sharing local businesses, restaurants, and makers, our goal is to help visitors and locals alike put money back into the Black community and support businesses in each of these cities beyond the typical tourist hotspots.
