Airbnb today announces the launch of its new Trips platform in Paris, adding 100 bookable local Experiences, almost 50 insider recommendations and social meet ups to the thousands of homes available to stay in.
For visitors, Trips is a way to experience a different side of the city, immersing themselves in local communities. While for cities, it can help to diversify tourism away from busy city centers and allow local people to participate and benefit from tourism by sharing skills and making a little extra money from their interests and passions. Trips brings together where you stay, what you do and the people you meet all into one place and all powered by local people. It is a great way for Parisians to discover new things to do and meet new people.
Within the Trips Platform, Places includes insider recommendations, known as guidebooks, from neighborhood residents and cultural experts on the hidden gems that only locals know about, as well as the chance to socialize with other travelers and locals through Meet Up events.
The 50 new guidebooks in Paris will bring around 450 new places for travelers to discover, including curated food Experiences from craft beers to where to eat on Sundays, unusual shopping with artisan ateliers and unexpected recommendations, such as where to rest.
