Surf’s up! The ultimate beachside stays in the UK and around the world

With the summer season in full swing in Ireland and as excitement builds towards action-packed months ahead filled with major sporting events, Airbnb has revealed its best beachside stays in the ‘Surf’ category. Whether you prefer riding the waves on your home turf or exploring surf destinations further afield, these listings offer the perfect opportunity to catch some waves. 

Watersports is rising in popularity, with Ireland boasting over 5,600km of pristine coastline   people are actively participating in sports such as surfing, body surfing, bodyboarding, and kite surfing. As surfing piques interest, it’s no surprise that Irish people are keen to incorporate this hobby into their travel plans – visiting popular surfing destinations which, according to Airbnb data*, include Brazil, Miami, Portugal, Australia, Hawaii and Ireland’s Lahinch.

Airbnb data** also shows beachside stays are trending for Irish families this summer but luckily there’s a seaview stay for all surf lovers on the platform.  From an ocean view villa in Malibu, California and a tropical cabin in Bali, Indonesia to this stone cottage in Kerry, Ireland  – below Airbnb has rounded up its  ultimate surf stays.
