Airbnb and RoSPA share home safety advice
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and Airbnb have teamed up to provide the Airbnb community with guidance on home safety.
This builds on a successful ‘Meet the Experts’ event alongside other founding members of Airbnb’s UK Trust and Safety Alliance, covering a wide range of trust and safety topics. Experts from RoSPA delivered a session on the importance of taking measures to improve home safety and protect guests, including dedicated advice for the under 5s and older people – two of the most vulnerable groups when it comes to home accidents.
To inform the Airbnb community about the risk of accidents, Airbnb and RoSPA have teamed up to produce two dedicated guides to help Hosts and guests spot potential hazards and take necessary actions.
Tips include how Hosts can check electrical wiring and secure bulky furniture, or how guests can take precautions to keep children safe.
Ashley Martin, RoSPA’s Public health Adviser said, “We are delighted to be part of Airbnb’s UK Trust and Safety Alliance and to have the opportunity to support the development of these guides that will hopefully support Hosts in making their homes safe and welcoming for themselves, their families and guests.”
