At Airbnb, we believe that greater transparency around employee compensation is critical to building a culture of trust and accountability.
In 2023, every Airbnb employee globally was provided access to the base pay range,1 in addition to the bonus target for their current role. We are excited to share that we’ve now expanded this to include annual performance equity award targets2 for all employees globally. This means every employee can now see the total target compensation range for their role.3 Externally, we began sharing base pay hiring ranges on job postings in the United States in 2022.
We believe increased transparency around base pay is having positive results, including helping drive more consistency in our new hire compensation packages.
In addition to pay transparency, we are also committed to pay equity. To help support equal pay for equal work, we’ve conducted an annual pay equity analysis since 2015. We completed this year’s annual compensation review with no unexplained statistically significant gaps in our annual salary and annual performance equity awards.
We believe these steps contribute to our work to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace. We will continue exploring ways to offer greater transparency about our compensation practices to our employees.
