Sit Down, Relax and Staycation a Little While

We all know Chicago is an amazing city where travelers from all over the world come to visit. But did you know that Chicagoans love their city so much they like to “staycation” here too? Last year, more than 17,400 guests who live within the Chicagoland area booked in Chicago Airbnb listings.  That’s over 7% of all Airbnb guests who stayed in Chicago in 2015.

Staycationers are traditionally people who prefer to spend their vacations relaxing at home, but Chicagoans are taking it one step further: they’re looking to explore other parts of their city and try out a new neighborhood while they are de-stressing from the hectic pace of their daily lives. In fact, 70% of Chicago staycationers are “visitors” who live in the city already.

But it’s not just city-dwellers getting in on the fun. People from all over the suburbs are staying in the Windy City to enjoy their time off.
