Airbnb Community Fund donations support Florida nonprofits

Across Florida, community organizations are making a lasting impact. From the coastal cities of Palm Beach County to the vibrant neighborhoods of Miami, these organizations are at the heart of strengthening local communities, creating economic opportunities, and ensuring Floridians have access to the resources they need to thrive. 

The latest recipients of the Airbnb Community Fund donations do just that and more, and we are proud to be directing nearly $200,000 to support organizations in Florida that are championing new pathways to economic empowerment—one of the key issue areas identified by the Airbnb Host Advisory Board as important to the global host community.

This year’s Florida recipients include:

• The WOW Center, an organization dedicated to helping adults with developmental disabilities lead more independent lives through educational programs, training, and advocacy.
• Veterans Florida, which provides assistance, programs, and resources for military veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
• Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, which works to build, restore, and furnish low-income housing across Palm Beach County.

Supporting Florida communities and causes

Launched in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund aims to directly support local communities and the people who live there. In its fourth year, the Airbnb Community Fund is set to distribute $8.5 million to over 160 organizations across communities in over 30 countries where Airbnb operates. 

As in previous years, Airbnb Community Fund recipients are selected in collaboration with local hosts, who play an integral role in identifying focus areas and organizations that make a meaningful impact in their communities. By leveraging the insights and experiences of hosts, we help ensure that funding is directed toward organizations addressing pressing local needs. In Florida, the Airbnb Palm Beach Host Club helped select Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County as one of the Community Fund recipients.

The Community Fund recipients’ focus on economic empowerment builds on Airbnb’s work in Florida where Airbnb remains an economic lifeline for many residents. According to a 2024 survey of hosts in Florida, 67 percent of hosts say hosting on Airbnb allows them to meet the rising cost of living, while 44 percent confirm hosting has helped them stay in their home.
