An Update on Instant Book

As we work to build an end-to-end travel platform, we want to serve every guest, and make booking an Airbnb listing quick and easy. Today, there are over 6 million listings in over 100,000 cities on the Airbnb platform. These listings include homes, apartments, hotel rooms, and unique places like 14,000 tiny houses, over 4,000 castles, and over 2,400 tree houses. 

Today, we are announcing that nearly 70 percent of all Airbnb listings can be booked using Airbnb’s Instant Book feature. Instant Book listings don’t require approval from the host of a specific guest before they can be booked. Instead, guests can just choose their travel dates, book, and then discuss check-in plans with the host. There is no additional fee for listings that use Instant Book. 

Instantly bookable listings are great for all travelers, and particularly help business travelers who may be booking at the last minute. More and more people are using Airbnb when traveling for work: today, more than 400,000 companies around the world are directly engaged with Airbnb to help manage their travel.
