Summer might not be completely over yet, but with cooler days upon us, Aussie travellers are already planning their next seasonal getaway, according to new data¹ from Airbnb. When it comes to locations; beach escapes, nature, and city destinations are driving wanderlust for Aussie guests this autumn over the Easter holiday break.

“Easter is a perfect time to go away with your loved ones, but we know that choosing where to go, whether abroad or locally in Australia can be a hard decision, especially with the current cost of living pressures. That’s why we’re excited to share some of the most popular destinations Aussies love to travel to at Easter to help provide inspiration, with many options still available from a range of categories,” said Susan Wheeldon, Airbnb’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. 

International travel to warmer locations is on the rise

Excitement about international travel continues to grow, with guests showing interest in destinations in the Northern Hemisphere. Below are some of the trending international destinations Australian guests are searching for this autumn, with Bali, Positano and Amsterdam topping the list²:

In addition, Australia ranks second when it comes to the top 10 countries of residence for inbound travellers who have booked listings in Japan during the cherry blossom viewing season next month.
