Airbnb Community Fund donates nearly $150,000 to New York nonprofits

The latest recipients of Airbnb Community Fund grants represent a vibrant cross-section of New York State, from the rural towns of the Adirondacks to the bustling neighborhoods near Jamaica Bay in Queens. These organizations play a vital role in strengthening local resilience and embody models of economic transformation.

This year’s Airbnb Community Fund grant recipients exemplify the dedication and impact of local organizations working tirelessly to uplift New Yorkers. From the villages of the Adirondacks to the outer borough of New York City and beyond, their efforts create meaningful impact and provide essential services to families and residents from all walks of life,” said Janaye Ingram, Director of Community Partner Programs & Engagement, Airbnb. “Through our partnership with these New York nonprofits, we are helping to empower the people and work that’s making a real difference for residents across the Empire State.”

Through the Airbnb Community Fund, we are directing nearly $150,000 to four nonprofits championing local efforts to build economic opportunity and community resilience. With deep roots in New York, these organizations have a proven track record of delivering services that help everyday working families and residents prosper. These organizations include:

• The Adirondack Council, dedicated to preserving the region’s unique rural character while ensuring the Adirondacks remain resilient and sustainable for the next generation.
• The Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, working to advance responsible development to revitalize and strengthen the region while expanding economic opportunity and improving quality of life for residents of Jamaica.
• Heart of Dinner, based in under-resourced Asian American communities and working to provide culturally thoughtful and nourishing meals to older adults.
• The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence Foundation, providing quality of life services to people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities to ensure a better future.

The organizations are selected in partnership with New York hosts, who play a key role in helping to direct these grants and whose leadership shapes our community outreach across the state. This approach ensures our funding supports local priorities and directly benefits the communities that need it most.

We see the larger discussion around housing in the Adirondacks as essential to the long-term health of the Adirondack Park and vibrancy of our communities. This grant will help the Council navigate pathways forward around these conversations. The Adirondack Park is renowned for its vast forests, lakes, rivers, and outdoor recreation. The very reason people move here and visit is because of the clean water, clean air, and wild places we work to protect,” said Raul J. Aguirre, Executive Director, Adirondack Council.

“The Airbnb Community Fund donation could not come at a moment of greater impact. We have never been more active in providing assistance to small businesses,” said Justin Rodgers, President and CEO, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation. “This contribution will allow us to continue our work supporting small businesses in Queens through technical assistance, our loan fund, and help navigating government bureaucracy. We are extremely appreciative of Airbnb for their support of our small business community.”

“This generous donation from the Airbnb Community Fund will empower Heart of Dinner to deepen the reach of our programs and continue our critical work in providing a culturally thoughtful and nourishing lifeline to Asian American older adults living in significantly under-resourced communities. Launched in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund aims to be part of the solutions people and communities need to face the challenges and opportunities of the next decade. In its fourth year, the Airbnb Community Fund is set to distribute $8.5 million to over 160 organizations across communities in over 30 countries where Airbnb operates.

Continuing to forge partnerships with local organizations and neighborhoods will remain central to our mission. By working together, we can ensure our investments create lasting impacts and foster long-term resilience and prosperity for New Yorkers for the next ten years.
