Supporting local communities and causes around the world
Launched in 2020, the Airbnb Community Fund is a $144 million ($100 million USD) initiative to directly support local communities and the people who live there. Each year, Airbnb donates to organizations that are supporting and strengthening communities around the world, including donations made in partnership with local hosts in many of these communities.
The latest recipients of the fund includes more than 160 organizations making a difference in 30+ countries across six continents. As in previous years, local hosts helped direct a majority of the donations, with members of 85 local Host Clubs, which are led by volunteer hosts, nominating grassroots nonprofits making a difference in their communities. Members of the host club in Haliburton, Ontario, which nominated recipient SIRCH Community Services, also volunteered at the organization in early February to assemble 40 warming kits for unhoused community members.
Recipients in Canada shared how the donations are supporting the work they do.
