Information for Home and Experience Hosts in Germany

Update: October 2020

The current spread of the coronavirus has far-reaching consequences for our community. In recent weeks and months many hosts have been unable to receive guests in their accommodation or host an experience due to travel restrictions. Travel today is accompanied by increased safety requirements and hygiene regulations, which can vary from state to state. From November 2, 2020, according to a resolution of the Federal Government together with the Minister Presidents of the Federal States, overnight accommodation offers are to be made available again throughout Germany only “for necessary and non-touristic reasons”. This measure is to apply for the time being until the end of November 2020 and will be implemented individually by the federal states.

Hosts are responsible for compliance with all applicable guidelines and we advise hosts on Airbnb to fully understand what has been asked of them and to strictly adhere to the directions of government authorities.

In order to make it easier for hosts to find out about the new regulations, we have compiled an overview of the information pages of the federal government and the federal states. Please note that this list does not claim to be complete or accurate and that the regulations may change over time. Airbnb assumes no liability in this respect. We recommend that you contact the relevant authorities if you have any questions.
