Updating our Terms of Service, Payments Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

At Airbnb, our community and vision for travel continue to expand, so we’re updating our Terms of Service, Payments Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.

Terms

These updates are aimed at making our Terms more concise and easier to understand, and to reflect new types of services available on Airbnb (such as a Pass-Through Tax Feature and our Experiences Guest Refund Policy).

Also, to better reflect applicable consumer protection laws within the European Economic Area (“EEA”), we have separated our Terms of Service into a version for users residing within the EEA and a version which applies to users residing outside of the EEA.

Privacy Policy

In addition to updating our Privacy Policy to make it easier to read and understand our privacy practices, we’ve added additional information to provide more transparency around new Airbnb services.

Timing

The updated Privacy Policy will automatically go into effect for all existing Airbnb hosts and guests on March 27, 2019.

The updated Terms of Service and Payments Terms of Service will go into effect for existing Airbnb hosts and guests on March 27, 2019. When you use Airbnb on or after that day, we’ll ask you to agree to the new Terms of Service and Payments Terms of Service.

All new hosts and guests that register starting today, January 21, 2019, will agree to the new Terms of Service, Payments Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. To learn more, you can review the new Terms by clicking here. We’ve also posted information to explain these changes in more detail on our Terms of Service Update page. Both the old and new versions of the Terms can be found at the Terms of Service, Payments Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy pages.
